NEW YORK, March 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) today announced winners of the 2016 Next Generation Leaders Awards. Honoring emerging executives for their efforts to foster multiethnic diversity and inclusion and for demonstrating exceptional business acumen, the awards will be presented during the NAMIC Annual Awards Breakfast. Held as part of INTX: The Internet & Television Expo (formerly the Cable Show), the NAMIC Annual Awards Breakfast will take place Wednesday, May 18, 2016, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. (EDT) at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

Winners of the 2016 Next Generation Leaders Awards include Malek Robert Amirshahi, vice president, Public Relations, Time Warner Cable; Sean Cohan, president, International and Digital Media, A+E Networks; Detavio Samuels, president, One Solution & Interactive One; and Urvashi Shivdasani, senior vice president, Finance, Discovery Networks International, Discovery Communications. Presented in partnership with Multichannel News, the awards are given out in four categories: Cable MSO (Amirshahi), Cable Programmer (Shivdasani), Technology Company or Discipline (Cohan) and Creative Discipline (Samuels). Executives of color age 45 or under were eligible for nomination.
