COMMERCIAL-FREE DEBATES TO BE MODERATED BY ABC 7'S RON MAGERS (U.S. SENATE DEBATE) AND ALAN KRASHESKY (COOK COUNTY STATE'S ATTORNEY RACE)
CHICAGO, Feb. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In run-up to the March 15 primary election, ABC 7 Chicago will be the home for two, live debates, continuing the station's long-standing tradition of producing and broadcasting political debates. ABC 7 will partner with the League of Women Voters of Illinois and Univision Chicago to present hour-long, commercial-free debates between the Democratic candidates running for U.S. Senate, Friday, February 19 and Cook County State's Attorney, Friday, February 26. Both debates will be available live at 7:00 PM on abc7chicago.com and ABC 7's digital channel 7.2. The U.S. Senate debate will also be seen on ABC 7's main channel at 10:35 PM on February 19 and the Cook County State's Attorney debate at 11 AM on Sunday, February 28.
Univision Chicago will air the debates on February 21 and February 28 at 10 AM.
ABC 7 Eyewitness News Political Reporter Charles Thomas and Univision Chicago News Anchor Erika Maldonado will serve on the panel questioning the candidates.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19
ABC 7 EYEWITNESS NEWS PRESENTS: THE RACE FOR U.S. SENATE: THE DEMOCRATS DEBATE
Democratic U.S. Senate candidates Tammy Duckworth, Napoleon Harris and Andrea Zopp will square off in a live debate at 7:00 PM at ABC 7 studios. The debate will be moderated by ABC 7 Eyewitness News Anchor/Reporter Ron Magers and will be streamed live at 7:00 PM on abc7chicago.com and featured live on the station's digital channel 7.2. It will also be available on-demand on the ABC 7 Chicago website.
The debate will air on ABC 7's main channel on Friday, February 19 at 10:35 PM. The hour-long debate will be presented commercial-free.
Univision Chicago WGBO Channel 66 will air the debate at 10 AM on Sunday, February 21. It will be featured on Univision Radio via Univision America 1200 AM.
The League of Women Voters of Illinois, Univision Chicago and the Illinois Broadcasters Association are ABC 7 partners in this debate.

Democratic candidates for Cook County State's Attorney, Anita Alvarez, Kim Foxx and Donna More, will face off in a debate that will be moderated by Eyewitness News Anchor/Reporter Alan Krashesky. The debate will be streamed live at 7:00 PM on abc7chicago.com and will be featured live on the station's digital channel 7.2. It will also be available on-demand on the ABC 7 Chicago website.
The debate will air on ABC 7's main channel on Sunday, February 28 at 11:00 AM. The hour-long debate will be presented commercial-free.
