STX Entertainment Partners With 20 Distributors In More Than 50 Territories Worldwide

BURBANK, Calif., Nov. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- STX Entertainment has expanded its reach to include global distribution capabilities as the media company finalizes agreements with partners in more than 50 territories to form a top-tier worldwide distribution network for the studio's 12-15 motion pictures a year, it was announced today by Adam Fogelson, Chairman of the STX Entertainment Motion Picture Group, Thomas McGrath, STX's Chief Operating Officer, and John Friedberg, President of International Sales for STX Entertainment's Motion Picture Group.

The pacts form alliances with the leading companies in international film distribution, among them Tobis Film in Germany and Austria; Sun Distribution Group in Latin America and Spain; Roadshow Films in Australia and New Zealand; VVS Films in Canada; Freeman Entertainment in Eastern Europe; AB Svensk Filmindustri in Scandinavia; The Searchers in Benelux, and many others (full list below).

Huayi Brothers Media Corporation, as part of their overall investment in the STX film slate, will handle STX's films in China and related territories.

The deals represent the first major international distribution agreements STX Entertainment has forged and marks the first step towards becoming a consistent global provider of high quality film content worldwide.

While STX has already announced domestic release dates for upcoming films including Secret in Their Eyes, The Boy, and The Free State of Jones, the first slate of films available for global distribution from STX will be The Space Between Us, a science-fiction adventure starring Gary Oldman, Asa Butterfield, Carla Gugino and Britt Robertson; Hardcore, an adrenaline-fueled action film shot in the first person point-of-view, written and directed by Ilya Naishuller; Mile 22, a heart-racing action thriller from director Peter Berg starring Mark Walhberg, Rhonda Rousey, and Iko Uwais; Bad Moms, a female comedy directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore and starring Mila Kunis, Christina Applegate and Kristen Bell; The Foreigner, an action thriller from director Martin Campbell starring Jackie Chan; Russ & Roger, a comedy inspired by a true story starring Will Ferrell and Josh Gad; and Happytime Murders, a hybrid live-action/animation action comedy from The Henson Company and director Brian Henson.
