"Nise - The Heart of Madness" Wins Tokyo Grand Prix of 28th Tokyo International Film Festival
TOKYO, Nov. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The 28th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) at Roppongi Hills, Tokyo, Japan from October 22 to 31 has successfully concluded. This year, TIFF screened 207 films and 63,738 film fans attended the screenings. The Tokyo Grand Prix was awarded to "Nise - The Heart of Madness," directed by Roberto Berliner. At the closing ceremony, Jury president Bryan Singer enthusiastically explained: "The most important part of filmmaking is creating a world that's believable. In the case of this film we all felt that it was as a believable film with a world full of sadness, humor and triumph." Berliner's words were: "It was a very cruel job. It took 13 years on this film. I rewrote it many times because Nise is such an important person who is a revolutionary figure. Only a few people know about her so it was my responsibility to show her to the world. In life, sometimes we know that we are doing something special, and I felt that way with this film."
