Sinclair Congratulates WJLA-TV in Washington D.C. for Record-Breaking News Recognition and 'Overall Excellence' Award
WASHINGTON, July 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. (Nasdaq: SBGI) ("Sinclair") is proud to announce that its Washington, D.C. news station, WJLA, and its cable news network, News Channel 8, received 13 regional Emmy Awards this year, more than the station has won in the last ten years. The Emmy® Award is the premier television production award presented in the areas of entertainment, news, documentary, and sports programming.
WJLA won awards for best newscast for Daytime, Evening, and Weekend coverage. More importantly, the WJLA news staff was honored with the prestigious 'Overall Excellence' Award for their superb reporting and dedication in the newsroom.

Sinclair made its debut in the Washington, D.C. market in August 2014 when it acquired the Allbritton Communications television stations and News Channel 8. Since then, Sinclair has made investments in equipment, technology, and programming improvements in WJLA and News Channel 8.
Sinclair's other television stations across the country have already received more than 200 combined news awards with two more months remaining in the regional Emmy and Associated Press awards seasons.
