MONTREAL, July 22, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Quebecor is pleased to be associated with the 13(th) Festival de musique émergente (FME) in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, which will be held from September 3 to 6, 2015. The emerging music festival's original and diverse line-up of young talent provides an annual opportunity to discover exciting new artists.
"We are proud to support the Festival de musique émergente for the 8(th) consecutive year," said Pierre Dion, President and CEO of Quebecor. "Every year, the festival showcases the next generation of creative artists, bringing us a selection of brilliantly talented performers who tread new and unique musical ground. Our commitment to the FME is another example of our passion for culture in all its forms. In particular, we make it a point of honour to support our emerging Québec musical artists. We wish all Festival-goers an electrifying musical experience."
In addition to financial support, Quebecor backs the FME with a large-scale promotional campaign across its media platforms. Quebecor is also presenting some 15 free shows as part of the "5 à 7 Quebecor" series, including Philippe Brach, Guillaume Beauregard, Fanny Bloom, Elliot Maginot and Ste-4 recording artist Joseph Edgar. Ste-4, Musicor's sister label, was created in 2013. It is dedicated to promoting emerging artists, with a focus on Francophone music.
Every year, Quebecor distributes donations and sponsorships worth nearly $30 million to worthwhile causes. More than half of that amount goes to artists, events and organizations on Québec's cultural scene, part of Quebecor's commitment to promoting Québec culture, bringing arts of every variety to a wide audience and supporting young artists.
