New York's Chinese Consulate General Hosts Reception Honoring the Launch of Carnegie Hall's Summer 2015 China Tour by the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America and Major Tour Sponsors Including Wailian Overseas Consulting Group

NEW YORK, July 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The People's Republic of China's New York Consulate General, Zhang Qiyue hosted a reception last evening honoring the launch of Carnegie Hall's Summer 2015 China tour by the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America and its valued supporters including Linda Mei He, Chairperson and President of Wailian Overseas Consulting Group, Ltd., a major tour sponsor.

Guests in attendance included MacAndrews & Forbes and Revlon Chairman Ron Perelman, Former Secretary of State Dr. Henry Kissinger, Sir Clive Gillinson, Executive and Artistic Director of Carnegie Hall, acclaimed composer Tan Dun and over 100 talented young musicians between the ages of 16-19 from across the U.S. who comprise this year's orchestra.

The orchestra, led by guest conductor Charles Dutoit, will debut with a concert at Carnegie Hall on July 11 before leaving for a two-week, seven-city tour across China. Stops include performances in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Xi'an, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, concluding with a concert in Hong Kong on July 26th. Performances will feature an appearance by internationally renowned pianist YUNDI as guest soloist and will include a new work by Tan Dun.
