-Only Rentrak Precisely Measures Movies & TV Everywhere-

PORTLAND, Ore., June 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Rentrak (NASDAQ: RENT), the leader in precisely measuring movies and TV everywhere, today announced the top weekly cross-platform entertainment rankings for June 10, 2015.

Warner Bros.' "San Andreas" caused a seismic worldwide box office event as it led the global pack this weekend with $124.24 million in 69 territories and nearly $300 million total to-date. In comedy action, Fox's comedy "Spy" starring Melissa McCarthy infiltrated 55 territories earning $55.6 million this weekend for a worldwide total nearing $90 million. Notably, Warner Bros.' "Mad Max: Fury Road" crossed the $300 million mark globally this weekend and Universal's "Pitch Perfect 2" hit the $250 million global mark and counting.

In North American box office action, a casting coup and an irresistible R-rated comedy action concept took Fox's "Spy" to the top of the box office chart this weekend with $29.1 million. The pairing of Melissa McCarthy with Jason Statham (not to mention Jude Law and Rose Byrne) gives the star her third biggest debut in a lead role behind only "The Heat" and "Identity Thief." Last weekend's big winner, Warner Bros.' action-adventure "San Andreas," starring mega-star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, shook things up in the second spot with $25.8 million and a total just shy of $100 million in North America after 10 days in release. In the wake of a very strong showing on Friday, Focus Features' PG-13 horror sequel "Insidious 3" debuted in third place with $22.7 million.

On our digital purchases and rentals chart, Warner Bros.' "American Sniper," now in its fifth week of release, shoots back up the charts into the number one position while 20th Century Fox's, "Kingsman: The Secret Service" moves to the second spot in its second week of release. Sony's acclaimed "Whiplash" re-enters the chart in the third position.

Warner Bros.' war drama "American Sniper" this week tops both our Movies on Demand chart and our DVD and Blu-Ray Disc sales chart. Notably, Universal's family sci-fi movie "Seventh Son," starring Jeff Bridges, makes a strong second place debut on the very same DVD and Blu-Ray Disc sales list, while taking third position on the Movies on Demand lineup. Also on this week's DVD and Blu-Ray Disc sales chart, Liam Neeson takes first place with 'Taken 3," followed by Jennifer Lopez in the campy fun of "The Boy Next Door."

Azteca America's "Futbol Liga MX" hits number one this week on our top viewer engagement for broadcast telecasts chart followed by Telemundo's "El Senor de los Cielos" and ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" in third.

On our top viewer engagement for cable telecasts chart, VH1's "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" lands in first place while WE's "Braxton Family Values" grabs the second spot followed by Logo's "RuPaul's Drag Race."

On our combined social media and digital engagement chart for viewers of broadcast and cable telecasts, Christina Aguilera helped secure the top spot for NBC's "The Voice" this week. Her digital exclusive, "Master of Impressions," had 4.6M+ YouTube views. A very sincere speech by Jimmy Kimmel bidding farewell to David Letterman helped lead ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" to the second spot. The video earned 2.1M+ views on YouTube. ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" added a finale video of Derek and Julianne's dance to Facebook. The post had over 152k interactions.
