JHD Group Provides Innovative Design for FOX Sports' FIFA Women's World Cup Broadcast

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Build-out of the North Hollywood, CA based JHD Group's innovative broadcast headquarters design for FOX Sports' coverage of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2015 in Vancouver has been completed.

The state-of-the-art set will be utilized for pregame, postgame and complementary programming for the entirety of the tournament to be broadcast June 6-July 5 across the FOX Sports network.

Combining the modern architectural persona of Vancouver with the rich landscape of the region and the international community connected to the Women's World Cup, the structure and set features different looks for television; a main stage, a day lounge with a water backdrop, an evening lounge with a cityscape, and a soccer demonstration field.

"The structure was designed as a 2 story open-air building that allows 360 degree views of the area reinforcing the surrounding beauty for the camera to capture," said Jeff Hall, Principal and Lead Designer, JHD Group. "The lower level lounge structure is layered with rich details from First Nations art symbols and totems to textiles that were designed specifically with a graphic tie-in to the on-air package. The overall design is a complex, cohesive piece of art and architecture that will live in the existing environment and spirit of Jack Poole Plaza."

Set design began in early 2014.
Set build-out began May 13 and concluded on June 4.
