"In My Own Sweet Time" is now available from Kristi Hoopes

DENVER, June 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- 17 year-old Colorado native Kristi Hoopes is excited to announce the release of her new single "In My Own Sweet Time." The single, along with other tracks on her upcoming EP, was produced by veteran session musician Biff Watson, who has had his hand in hundreds of top albums from the likes of George Strait, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, and Crystal Gayle. Recorded at RCA Studio A (Grand Victor Sound), Kristi Hoopes joins the list of artists like Dolly Parton, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, and Lady Antebellum who have made some of country's best music within the studio walls.

Watson is working with Kristi on her highly anticipated solo debut album and had this to say about his experience working with her: "I met Kristi the afternoon before our Lyricord session. Her schedule for the recording day started with an interview, and she impressed me right away with how poised and well-spoken she was, how well she knew herself, her goals and what was expected of her. Then, amidst a team of the best musicians and engineers, and surrounded by cameras and a full video production crew, she behaved like an experienced artist, performed with emotion, took direction well, and at all times was gracious and cooperative. It was a long day, and everyone was impressed with this new singer-songwriter."

In an increasingly competitive country music market, Watson believes that Kristi has what it takes. "Kristi knows how to write a good song, and then perform it. That communication is key. She knows what's ahead of her - the work to be done, the pitfalls and frustrations. She understands people, listens well and readily accepts challenges. Kristi believes in herself, and this instills confidence in those who work with her. Yes, she's beautiful and smart - that gets her through the door. Then her talent, personality, and humble nature turns listeners into believers and fans!"

Kristi Hoopes is fresh off her first CMA Music Fest in Nashville and just finished several interviews with international media outlets.

The song holds a special place in Kristi's heart. "The minute I heard the demo of 'In My Own Sweet Time,' I knew I had to record it. It's a song that you can blast in your car and sing at the top of your lungs! The song really hits home for me because I am making my way in this industry at my pace, my way. It pretty much describes me in a nutshell!" says Kristi.

About Kristi Hoopes

With seven years, 30+ awards, and two guitars under her belt, four-time "Songwriter of the Year," five-time "New Country Female Entertainer of the Year," Nashville recording artist Kristi Hoopes is creating the country music of tomorrow, today.

This past summer, Kristi's first album began to take shape with iconic wall of RCA Studio A in Nashville after winning Lyricord's first songwriting contest. While the EP/album is still a work in progress, her debut single "At Least It's Something" and her new single "In My Own Sweet Time" are currently available for purchase on iTunes, Ghosttunes, and dozens of other music outlets.

Born on Valentine's Day, this 17 year-old Colorado girl found her love for the stage at the age of 2, entertaining her family on the top of the living room coffee table. Her passion for performing flourished during her 3(rd) grade talent show while singing Loretta Lynn's version of the Nancy Sinatra classic, "These Boots Are Made for Walking."

That same year, the multi-talented Kristi was recruited by a musical theater troupe, touring nationally and internationally until the group disbanded. In the back of her mind, she felt like there was a piece of her that was missing, and it was in hand-written lyrics and chord charts scattered about Kristi's bedroom floor that the piece was found -- country music.

With a pocketful of those original songs and guitar in hand, she began competing with the CCMA (Colorado Country Music Association). Kristi's consecutive wins in 2009 and the years to follow earned her the chance to compete in Tennessee and win the international title of Female Entertainer of the Year from NACMAI (North American Country Music Association International) in 2010 and Songwriter of the Year in 2011.

In the past few years, Kristi has continued to grow her career. She took home a first place win at the Country Showdown (formerly known as the Texaco Country Showdown) for KCRT 92.5 FM, and was the youngest of six contestants to represent the state of Colorado at Copper Mountain on the Wynonna Judd & The Big Noise Stage.

From the country fairs to the coffee shops, she quickly becomes a fan favorite and has left her eclectic country footprint at iconic venues like the Cheyenne Frontier Days, the Colorado State Fair, and Copper Country Fest. Kristi has been both a headliner and an opening act for well -known Colorado bands like the Blue Canyon Boys, Fireweed, Barry Ward, and Nashville recording artist Ashley Buchart.

When she's not tearin' it up on stage or penning a new song, she volunteers her time talents at charity events and involves herself in local theater productions both on stage and behind the scenes. Her rigorous AP academic schedule l eaves her with little free time, but she makes use of what she gets by riding horses, camping, writing poetry, and hanging out with her friends.

Kristi Hoopes may be a small town girl, but her voice promises to take her fans on a Mile High ride. "I am incredibly blessed. Simple as that. I can't believe how far I've come, and I can't wait to see where this journey is going to take me," says Kristi.
