Live event turns fans into real-world detectives



Popular turn-of-the-century detective series MURDOCH MYSTERIES will transform the
streets of London back in time to 1902 as part of a live police chase tied to the new
online companion interactive mystery Murdoch Mysteries: The Infernal Device
[http://www.cbc.ca/murdochmysteries ] on Saturday, May 9 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. starting at
Bermondsey Underground Station (142 - 154 Jamaica Road London SE16 4RX). MURDOCH MYSTERIES
fans in the London area are invited to put their investigative skills to the test and
gather evidence as they witness a police chase that will help them and other online
players solve the case as the mystery unravels. Watch MURDOCH MYSTERIES Mondays at 9pm on
Alibi Sky 132 Virgin 130 and also on Drama Channel Freeview 20 Sky 158 Virgin 190 in the
UK.



The six-week, unprecedented interactive experience Murdoch Mysteries: The Infernal
Device, available at cbc.ca/murdochmysteries [http://cbc.ca/murdochmysteries ], allows
fans to become detectives. Participants can solve the plot-twisting mystery through unique
video content, online challenges and real-world events that bring the storyline to life in
full turn-of-the-century detail. Each week, a new chapter will be revealed online,
incorporating a new regional event that will take place across Canada and in London.
Additional clues to help solve the interactive mystery will be revealed at each event,
allowing fan detectives to work together to solve the case. Participation in the live
events is not required, fans will find everything needed to participate online.

In Murdoch Mysteries: The Infernal Device, super spy Terrence Meyers (Peter Keleghan)
returns for another matter of national security, involving high stakes and anti-Monarchist
sentiments. With Detective Murdoch (Yannick Bisson) out of town arranging security for a
royal visit, Constable George Crabtree (Jonny Harris) must step in to deal with Meyers'
dangerous machinations. Crabtree discovers a threat that could disrupt the balance of
power in the world, and enlists the help of fans to foil the devious plot.
