SNOWMASS VILLAGE, Colo., May 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- After 25 years in Highlands Ranch, the Colorado Scottish Festival is excited to announce its new location in beautiful Snowmass Village.
Lodging for the July 31 - Aug. 2, 2015 event is starting to fill, so book your accommodations now. Special lodging rates for the Festival are available at scottishgames.org. All the properties have quick access to free shuttle service around the Village and to the Festival.
The Festival kicks off on Friday evening, July 31, with Hot Piping and Hot Drumline competitions judged by the audience at The Bar at Wildwood, at the Holiday Inn Express.
The dog-friendly festival has many additional attractions that promise to make this year the best yet. The Great Highland athletes throwing the caber (telephone pole), Highland, Irish and Scottish Country dancers, Dogs of the British Isles, classic British cars (Saturday), bagpiping and drumming competitions, "Bonnie (pretty) Knees" contests for kilted gentlemen, colorful clans, a genealogy tent, children's athletics, vendors specializing in Celtic merchandise and food, a Kirkin' of the Tartans (Sunday morning church service to bless the tartans), and nonstop Celtic music are some of the Festival's many features.
The Colorado Scottish Festival will also feature a free Saturday evening performance by the popular Irish rock group, Swagger.
