Renault Free The Music Awards Recognizes the Best of Musicians/Bands in the Country

Songdew.com, the largest network of independent musicians in India, presented Renault
Free The Music Awards at Hard Rock Cafe, Bengaluru last Thursday. Free The Music Awards is
a unique initiative that acknowledges the contribution of independent artists in India.
Started last year in New Delhi to honor indie musicians, this year Free the Music Awards
were held in Bengaluru wherein some of the most revered bands/artists of Bangalore were
honored for their work.

At a glittering ceremony, the award winners were felicitated by veteran
guitarist-composer-producer Baiju Dharmajan, also known as the 'God of Small Strings'
lovingly by his fans and followers.



The bands that received the awards in the presence of the entire independent music
community of Bengaluru are - Lagori, Agam, Spaghettify, Space Behind The Yellow Room,
Thermal And A Quarter, One Night Stand, Aathma, Inner Sanctrum, Solder, Until We Last,
Among The Signs, Clown With a Frown and eminent artists like Aabha Hanjura, Jim Ankan
Deka, Gubbi, and Brodha V.



The awards were followed by live music performances by some amazingly talented bands
that won Renault Free The Music contest this year. Bangalore based Rapper-Producer 'Big
Deal' started the show and made the crowd dance to his music. This was followed by rocking
performances by Mahesh Raghunandan - an amazingly talented singer-songwriter from the city
and a power packed performance by Soul Inclination - a Delhi-based rock band that stole
the night away with their electrifying music.



Speaking about Free The Music Awards, Baiju Dharmajan said, "I am very pleased to be a
