The Hollywood Reporter Is Official Industry Media Publication Of Sundance Film Festival Through 2017

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hollywood Reporter announced that it will be the official industry media publication of the internationally heralded Sundance Film Festival in 2015. The collaboration with the Sundance Institute extends through 2017 and grants THR access to festival activities, promotional opportunities, and brand tie-ins.

"The Sundance Film Festival is one of the world's most influential festivals, breaking out new talent, defining careers and setting the standard for what's important each year in Hollywood," said Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media's Entertainment Group. "As the official industry publication of the Sundance Film Festival, The Hollywood Reporter will offer even more unprecedented coverage and access to our readers while at the same time multiplying our presence at the festival."

As a media sponsor, THR will play a central role at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival with exclusivity for official industry publication, elevated brand presence, and insider access. Additionally, Sundance Institute and THR will collaborate on unique content-driven opportunities and events. THR has long hosted a newsroom at the festival, presented an eclectic mix of events, and provided reviews of every movie by the THR critic team led by Todd McCarthy.

Keri Putnam, Executive Director, Sundance Institute, said, "The Hollywood Reporter is joining a passionate group of Sundance Film Festival supporters who believe in the value of discovering new original voices and building a community dedicated to independent storytelling. We welcome them and look forward to beginning our collaboration at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival."

THR sets the agenda within the industry with its reporting, coverage, award winning videos and events. The conversations at THR events create front page worthy news and trends as most recently exemplified by the annual Women in Entertainment Breakfast, where Shonda Rhimes received the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award, Angelina Jolie presented underserved L.A. girls in The Hollywood Reporter Women in Entertainment Mentorship Program with scholarships, and the town's most powerful 100 women were feted. The New York Times recently said "One of the most fearsome competitions in show business involves landing in the right spot on The Hollywood Reporter's annual ranking of the 100 most powerful women in entertainment."

THR recently re-launched its website, including an updated design, advanced mobile and tablet optimization and seamless social media integration. With surging site traffic of 17 million monthly unique visitors (per ComScore), THR will play a central role for news and information out of the Sundance Film Festival.
