Social Media Stayfilm launches app at 2014 Web Summit

SAO PAULO, Oct. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Stayfilm, a social media that makes creative and exclusive films, will take part in the 2014 Web Summit and launch the platform's mobile application. The only Brazilian startup present in the START area, which has the 100 companies with the highest growth potential in the world, Stayfilm will show its innovative platform at the event with the capacity for automatic film production and public engagement.

Stayfilm CEO Douglas Almeida believes that "participating at one of the world's biggest technology and innovation meetings is a great opportunity for presenting the Stayfilm to other countries. This is fundamental to Stayfilm's strategy for expansion, and it will help us consolidate the social network in the international market".

The company commenced operations at the end of 2012, but only opened its website one year later. Nowadays, it has more than 100,000 users and accesses in more than 150 countries. The platform lets anyone produce and share films with sound, effects and cinema quality.

Producing a film is fast and free. First, the name of the film is written and the social networks where photos and videos are to be filtered using keywords are indicated. It is possible to upload the material from a computer or smartphone using the application. Then you just have to select the style, watch and share the movie inside or outside Stayfilm. Each style has different models for films. The application will have a simultaneous release at the Web Summit and in Stores for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Soon, for Firefox OS.

With one of the largest angel-investments in Brazil, amounting nearly U$ 2.5 million, Stayfilm is getting ready for a roadshow with Venture Capital funds for expansion in 2015. The company's valuation is approximately U$12.5 million.

Currently, the company has partners such as Microsoft (with BizSpark Plus), Getty Images, DataStax and Predicta, partner for metrics, quality and results. Stayfilm has its business model based in addition to traditional online advertising with AdNetworks and AdExchange, working with advertisers and agencies to develop projects such as films for users that uses the language of brands. Today, it is part of a Brazilian Disney´s campaign until Christmas on an exclusive brand channel at the social network (www.stayfilm.com/disney) and Radio Disney (www.stayfilm.com/radiodisneybra).
