BOSTON, Sept. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Rough Cut - Woodworking with Tommy Mac,WGBH's Emmy-nominated woodworking series, is back for a 5(th) season and Tommy is going all out on big projects! Join him for 13 new episodes beginning Saturday, October 11 (check local listings) on public television, and watch as he turns unusual design inspiration into easy-to-follow projects for all.
Season 5 starts off with a bang, featuring special guest Paul Wahlberg, of A&E's Wahlburgers. A close friend, Paul reveals his passion for woodworking and teams up with Tommy to give a step-by-step demonstration on building a prep area for outdoor grilling stations. Once complete, Paul and Tommy install the handsome new piece at Alma Nove, Paul's Hingham, Massachusetts restaurant.
"Collaborating with Tommy was an exciting opportunity for me to explore my passion for woodworking," says Wahlberg. "Tommy's a great teacher. It was fun creating this piece together for Alma Nove guests and me to appreciate every day."
Tommy continues the season with a range of large-scale projects, including a pencil post bed, marble topped Queen Anne Table, and a glass door china cabinet. With his trademark passion for fine working and technical expertise, Tommy takes on each project with his unique character and style, utilizing a variety of materials and methods. Within each half-hour episode, Tommy covers the step-by-step process, and offers special "T-Mac tips" on technique.
Featuring field trips to the Frank Lloyd Wright home and studio in Chicago and the Shaker Village of New Hampshire, Season 5 is sure to delight audiences with a range of design inspiration. In the studio, special guests include arts and crafts aficionado, Tom McLaughlin, and the "Wood Whisperer", Marc Spagnuolo, as well as series favorites like Eli Cleveland, Al D'Attanasio, and Steve Brown.
