Union Surprises Virginians with Random Acts of Niceness

RICHMOND, Va., Aug. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- West Cary Group, marketing agency-of-record for Union, is helping the bank deliver smiles through its "#LifeFeelsGood" events. As part of this grassroots campaign, the Union Smile Team travels around Virginia picking up the tab during surprise events that have included handing out free movie tickets, ice cream cones, free cups of coffee and more.

So far, Union has delivered more than 2,000 smiles in Richmond, Blacksburg, Charlottesville, Culpeper and Fredericksburg, just to name a few. To support the events, West Cary Group developed a new website, lifefeelsgoodva.com, which tracks the Union Smile Team around the state.

The site also showcases Union's new TV spot, "Kitten Rescue," in which a father finds himself in need of a happy place. It's part of Union's current "Life feels good. So should your bank." brand campaign, with the #LifeFeelsGood events being a natural extension.

While helping people feel good isn't a new concept for a bank that gives back over $1.4 million annually to Virginia communities, asking people to pay it forward is. During the events, representatives from the bank pass out cards asking people to keep the good going by doing something nice for someone else.
