SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Echo & The Bunnymen, finishing up the first leg of a triumphant sold out U.S tour in support of their much-lauded 12(th) album Meteorites, will stop in to The Late Show With David Letterman this week to perform their U.S. single "Holy Moses." The show will air on Thursday, August 21(st). Produced by Youth (Killing Joke, The Verve), Meteorites contains 10 highly personal songs written by founder Ian McCulloch and performed by Bunnymen stalwarts McCulloch and Will Sergeant along with Gordy Goudie (guitar) and Stephen Brannan (bass). Ian McCulloch considers Meteorites to be the worthy successor to Crocodiles, Heaven Up Here, Porcupine and Ocean Rain. Says Paste Magazine: "The pair infused new energy into the trademark Bunnymen sound, balancing McCulloch's ennui with flourishes of strings that often suggest a latter-day follow-up to their 1984 album, Ocean Rain." In addition, the "Holy Moses" single will be available at the special price of 69 cents from Tuesday, August 19 thru Monday, August 25(th) at all retailers. Meteorites was released in the UK on May 26(th) and the U.S. on June 3(rd).
