Acorn International Announces Appointment of New Executive Chairman

SHANGHAI, Aug. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Acorn International, Inc. (NYSE: ATV) ("Acorn" or the "Company"), a media and branding company in China engaged in developing, promoting and selling products through extensive direct and distribution networks, today announced that the Board of Directors of the Company (the "Board") resolved to remove Mr. Robert W. Roche as an executive chairman on August 26, 2014. Mr. Roche will remain with Acorn as a member of the Board. The Board appointed Mr. Don Dongjie Yang, the chief executive officer of the Company, as the new executive chairman on the same date, effective immediately.
