At Bat, At the Ballpark Updated for 2014 All-Star Game

MLB.TV Premium subscribers can live stream 85th All-Star Game via At Bat; At the Ballpark introduces interactive attractions at Target Field using iBeacon Technology

NEW YORK, July 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MLB.com At Bat and MLB.com At the Ballpark, the award-winning and industry standard-bearers for live game and in-venue experience mobile applications, have been updated for the 2014 All-Star Game by MLBAM with new features, functionalities and designs. Among those are the first-ever live stream of the All-Star Game available through At Bat for MLB.TV Premium subscribers and At the Ballpark's debut of new interactive ballpark attractions at Target Field using iBeacon technology.

AT BAT

As part of its update for the Midsummer Classic, At Bat will be the only mobile app in which fans can live stream the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, the Gillette Home Run Derby and the All-Star Game.

MLB.TV Premium subscribers, for the first time, will be able to live stream the All-Star Game with the MLB.com At Bat app and across its more than 400 supported devices. In addition, At Bat will provide mobile access to live video streaming of the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game and the Gillette Home Run Derby on Sunday, July 13, and Monday, July 14, respectively.

AT THE BALLPARK

With the introduction of interactive ballpark attractions at Target Field for the All-Star Game, MLBAM will debut its second phase of iBeacon technology at MLB ballparks. Fans attending All-Star events at Target Field with At the Ballpark on their iPhone (iOS 7 required) will be able to use iBeacon when visiting these attractions, offering a unique mobile perspective through original content automatically delivered to their iPhone. The locations in Target Field are: The Golden Glove; Twins Digital Clubhouse; 2 Gingers Pub; Target Field Ballpark Model; 573 and Herb Carneal Pressbox; Kirby Puckett Atrium; Rod Carew Atrium; The Townball Tavern; and Target Plaza.

In April, MLBAM completed its first phase of the widespread installation of iBeacon technology with nearly one thousand iBeacons affixed throughout 28 MLB ballparks, allowing fans to utilize the technology to automatically check-in to every home game and get offers and rewards. Additional ballparks will be outfitted with dozens of new iBeacons to bring interactive ballpark attraction experiences to each. New ballparks will be announced as they become available.
