New 'BioCollage' Art Now On Kickstarter

The 27 Club: Searching for Secrets

CHICAGO, June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Founder Mona DiFiore has been reviving the greatest artists of our time, The 27 Club, with her BioCollage Kickstarter campaign. A BioCollage painting connects anecdotes in one overarching portrait. The BioCollage Kickstarter campaign will help tell the stories of the 27 Club.

"BioCollage tells stories with paint," said DiFiore. "And The 27 Club series explores the psychological side of the artists. That's why I've titled the Kickstarter Campaign The 27 Club: Searching for Secrets."

The 27 Club is a group of artists who died tragically at age 27. Included in The27 Club series is Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jean-Michael Basquiat and Brian Jones. DiFiore is seeking to honor those in the 27 Club by creating BioCollage paintings that emphasizes their significant life events. She has started a Kickstarter campaign to assist in funding this series and to incorporate the BioCollage concept into a business.

"BioCollage paintings are meant to glorify and highlight positive and provocative moments in the metamorphosis of life."

Eventually, BioCollage will get additional artists to participate in large-scale collaborative pieces intended for auctions and public installations. Rewards for pledging to the Biocollage Kickstarter project would include posters, postcards and prints on canvas of The 27 Club series.

Mona DiFiore is a painter who lives and works in her birthplace of Chicago, IL. She is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Admiring the work of color field painters like Rothko, and Matisse; masters of the Renaissance - Caravaggio, Titian and Rembrandt, the artist mixes a few of their components in her paintings. DiFiore's work is visually and conceptually about liminal relationships and social aberrations. Atmospheric, torchy and sensuous, her paintings intimate a deeper reality behind the surface. Both playful and serious, DiFiore's paintings ask the viewer to study, as if reading a novel, where conclusion comes from a journey. This dance between ambiguity and explicitness is what intrigues Mona and inspires her to paint. View more work on the BioCollage at www.biocollage.com.
