Inside the Tea Party on WORLD Channel

Inside the Tea Party on WORLD Channel

BOSTON, June 30, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- While the U.S. takes time to celebrate freedom and independence on the July 4(th) holiday, the July 8(th) broadcast of America Reframed: Town Hall on WORLD Channel, will cast an unflinching eye at two Tea Party activists who believe salvation for America lies in a return to true conservative values. Amidst the 2012 Presidential election in battleground state Pennsylvania, the film's subjects, Katy and John, are determined to turn the state "red."

Katy, a young stay-at-home mom strongly driven by the voices of conservative media, is a political novice who moved into public spotlight after having a confrontation with her senator at a town hall meeting. John is a lifelong Republican. A retired Baby Boomer, he struggles with making decisions that align with his conservative principles when he's unable to afford health care for his aging mother. Will leading a local Tea Party group be his last and best chance at stopping the political changes around him?

America ReFramed: Town Hall is more than a political treatise. It paints a portrait of the fears of those who believe they will be left behind by a changing America. America ReFramed, WORLD Channel's independent film series co-produced with American Documentary, Inc., showcases films that give viewers a glimpse into American life as it continues to transform - including the guts, the glory, and grit of a new and transforming nation. These independent, personal, and opinionated films document the dynamic times in which we all live.

"Freedom isn't a destination. It is something we have to keep fighting for," says Chris Hasting, executive producer, WORLD Channel. "WORLD is committed to offering programming and content that fuels the drive for civil justice and freedom; we hope our diverse collection of films continues to inspire passionate discussions on these topics."
