"We're pleased to undertake projects like Pandora Media's new offices, where cutting-edge workplace concepts merge with high-quality construction," says Barry Fries, CEO and founder of B.R. Fries, with corporate clients such as NBC Universal, Xerox and Coca-Cola. "These high-tech projects demand exceptional problem solving and a high level of craft, to serve the emerging millennial workforce. They're very different from traditional offices."
B.R. Fries managed all aspects of building out Pandora Media's new, 300-seat corporate offices, including custom-designed elements and extensive glass partitions and wood millwork. Located on interconnected floors in the 1920s office tower, 125 Park Avenue, the offices support Pandora's extensive audio/visual systems and live music performances.
The project architect is ABA Studio / Andrew Bartle Architects, led by Andrew B. Bartle, AIA, and the owner's representative is WG Project Management principal, Steve Waehler, RA.
Says Bill Brody, B.R. Fries vice president, "Unique to Pandora's culture and the Internet experience, there are multiple spaces for music performances, collaboration and large gatherings." Adaptable open spaces contrast with smaller private meeting rooms, dubbed "phone booths," reflecting new workplace trends and preferences for social interaction in Internet companies.
To complete the innovative offices, B.R. Fries used the latest computerized technologies for manufacturing and construction. While many challenges arose in creating the state-of-the-art offices, B.R. Fries delivered the project on time and under budget.
A leader in Internet radio, Pandora Media has said they are leveraging their new midtown workplace to build sales and expand its user base.
With deep experience in today's freeform, millennial workplace -- many in historic buildings -- B.R. Fries employs CNC milling, laser-guided tools, digital templates and building information modeling, along with handcrafted traditions, for superior results.
"We focus on intelligent, creative solutions specific to each client," says Fries. "Our approach demands an energetic, tech-savvy team of contractors and trades to ensure precise, efficient, cost-effective results."
