This discussion will take a look at how terrorism is depicted in media and give insights into the real world of combatting terrorism, radicalization, torture and other tactics. The discussion will be moderated by BONNIE REISS, Global Director, USC Schwarzenegger Institute.

Scenes from a variety of films that illustrate topics such as radicalization, torture and suicide bombings will be screened and discussed by a panel of experts from the film industry and the counter-terrorism field. This event will be both educational and entertaining while examining the effect of dramatization on the realistic portrayal of the serious and chilling subject of terrorism. This process affords participants insight into the real world of combatting terrorism as well as how film research and story-telling is conducted in these topic areas.
