Chicago Divorce Attorney Jeffery Leving Analyzes Top Sports Law Litigation on Fox Sports Radio

CHICAGO, Jan. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading Chicago matrimonial lawyer Jeffery Leving (http://dadsrights.com) will join Mike North this Sunday, January 19(th) at 8:30 AM CST on Fox Sports Radio - XM 247 (NATIONAL) for a discussion of the week's leading sports litigation stories.

Leving, who has represented numerous professional athletes, will provide critical insight into U.S. District Judge Anita Brody's rejection of the $765M NFL concussion lawsuit settlement. According to the New York Times, Judge Brody ruled that the figure was not enough explaining, "I am primarily concerned that not all retired N.F.L. players...will be paid...I have concerns about the fairness, reasonableness and adequacy of the settlement."

Leving notes, "The rejection of the settlement raises several significant issues that need to be addressed. While it is critical to ensure that enough money be available for all players who have suffered head injuries, including those players who may not know the extent of the damage they have sustained, it is unfortunate that those currently suffering will face delays in receiving the money they deserve."

Leving will also address Alex Rodriguez's collective bargaining lawsuit filed against Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA). Rodriguez filed the lawsuit after arbitrator Fredric Horowitz ruled that A-Rod's penalty for using performance enhancing drugs should be 162 games, and include the entire 2014 post-season. Such a penalty represents a $25 million loss in income to Rodriguez. According to ESPN.com, the lawsuit alleges that the MLB and the players' union "completely abdicated its responsibility to Mr. Rodriguez to protect his rights" and "this inaction by MLBPA created a climate in which MLB felt free to trample on Rodriguez's confidentiality rights."
