Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos Amp Up Music Amenity Program To Celebrate Groundbreaking Sounds of 2013

Tracks Volume Nine Features Playlists Curated by Downtown Records, ADA Music and Mute Records

ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos - with locations from Bali and San Diego to Singapore and Macau - announces the release of Tracks Volume Nine, the latest collection of playlists available exclusively to hotel guests around the world as part of the brand's complimentary music amenity program, The Sound of Your Stay®. Showcasing a contemporary mix of artists and genres, and available from October - March the collection features playlists curated by three industry-influencing record labels: Downtown Records, home to a wide spectrum of artists representing the vanguard of contemporary music; ADA Music, where some of the industry's biggest names built their initial following; and Mute Records, a seminal London-based independent label.

"Hard Rock has a long history of supporting the ever-evolving music industry and continues to celebrate unexplored talent and introduce original music to an unfamiliar audience," said Blake Smith, global director of music and marketing at Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos. "The Sound of Your Stay music amenity program has been a huge success and enhances the guest experience at Hard Rock Hotels worldwide."

Continuing its commitment to emerging musicians of tomorrow, Hard Rock teamed up with Downtown Records to engage indie music-fanatics and further support up-and-coming artists with the "Resort" playlist, the first of three in the Volume Nine Collection. Featuring songs from newly released and critically acclaimed albums, such as Cold War Kids' "Dear Miss Lonelyhearts" and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.'s "Speed of Things," the playlist brings to light tomorrow's stars moments before they break out of the underground, enticing music fans to leave expectations behind.

In an era where well-known artists continue to play it safe, Hard Rock applauds the creative souls that fearlessly create experimental pieces and dynamically modify the music landscape, with a "Players" playlist curated by ADA Music. Featuring music from Goodie Mob's "Age Against the Machine," the group's first album in 14 years speaking to a new wave of hip-hop, mixed with electronic elements and speedy beats, the playlist is a testament to Cee Lo's very own line off the album, "I'd rather die than to not be distinguished." Celebrating artists that continue to modernize the music industry by mutating genres and bringing new ones to life, the playlist offers the best of 2013's cutting edge music, including sounds from "chillwave" star Washed Out, Celtic-punk band Dropkick Murphys and The Dismemberment Plan, fathers of the dance-punk movement and major influencers of the current New Wave revival.

"Thank you for playing 'The Perfect Life'. Well, assuming you're playing it and not skipping over it. Personally I think you should play it. But I'm biased, as it's my song. One note: it makes sense if and when you're wearing a mariachi suit."So says electronic music legend Moby as an introduction to the City list, curated by Mute Records. The final playlist on the Volume Nine Collection, "City," seamlessly blends together indie rock, pop, folk and electronic components into one future-leaning bundle. Featuring lush beats from LA-based French electronic artist M83, whose popularity spiked after the 2011 single "Midnight City," and new track "Gita" by IDM supergroup Moderat, the "City" playlist is rousing and dynamic.

Appealing to the modern business or leisure traveler, the three elements of The Sound of Your Stay® create an unparalleled, authentic experience, allowing guests to channel their inner rock star - whether setting the mood with one of three 15-song playlists, nailing power chords on a Fender guitar during a jam session or matching beats and remixing like a professional DJ on a Traktor Kontrol mixer. As the first of its kind, this groundbreaking amenity program sets the industry standard in interactive programming, designed to provide guests with an all-encompassing music experience in the comfort of their hotel room.
