UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Oct. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Everyone's favorite big-hearted St. Bernard embarks on another larger-than-life adventure in Beethoven's Treasure,an all-new, family-friendly movie from Universal 1440 Entertainment written and directed by Ron Oliver (The New Addams Family, A Dennis the Menace Christmas). The newest heartwarming comedy featuring the outrageously outsized pooch wrapped principal photography today, October 8, in Nova Scotia.
Beethoven's Treasure marks the perennially popular pup's eighth screen appearance with an exciting new tale that finds Beethoven and his devoted trainer Eddie exploring the ancient mysteries of a quaint seaside hamlet. Shot on and around picturesque Nova Scotia, the film features more of the hilarious antics and wholesome adventures that have made this franchise a longtime family favorite that has earned more than $150 million worldwide.

Jonathan Silverman (Weekend at Bernie's, Brighton Beach Memoirs) returns in the role of Eddie, Beethoven's faithful friend, heading up a crew of winning actors including Kristy Swanson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "Psych"), Brian George (Horrible Bosses, "The Big Bang Theory"), Jeffrey Combs (Re-animator, The Frighteners), Colin Mochrie ("Whose Line Is It Anyway", "The Drew Carey Show"), Jayne Eastwood (Chicago, Dawn of the Dead), Bretton Manley (TED), David De Luise ("Wizards of Waverly Place," "Rizzoli and Isles"), Alec Mapa ("Ugly Betty," Marley and Me) and Morgan Fairchild ("Flamingo Road," "Falcon Crest"). The film is directed by Ron Oliver (Prom Night III, The New Addams Family) from a script he wrote with Chris Blake. It is produced by Al Dickerson (Swimming with Sharks, The Reading Room).
SYNOPSIS
When Beethoven gets fired from his latest movie, the canine star and his trainer Eddie (Jonathan Silverman) tuck their tails between their legs for the long drive home, but end up stranded in a small coastal town that holds unexpected adventure. While Eddie's car is being repaired, they check into a quaint B&B, run by Grace O'Malley (Jayne Eastwood) and her beautiful daughter Ann (Kristy Swanson), where they happen upon a long-lost treasure map that begins a quest to find a hidden fortune. Along the way, they will have to contend with pirate treachery--both old-school and modern--before they discover the secrets they seek in an action-packed comedy destined to become a family favorite.
