Tribune Broadcasting Names Steve Farber SVP/Operations
CHICAGO, Sept. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribune Broadcasting today announced that Steve Farber, who has held a variety of executive and operational roles of increasing responsibility for the company, has been named senior vice president/operations for the division. In his new role, Farber will be responsible for overseeing operations at the company's national multicast networks, Antenna TV and THIS TV, the nationally syndicated "The Bill Cunningham Show", and will take on other operational assignments, including those associated with Tribune's acquisition of Local TV Holdings, LLC.
Farber, who has served as acting general manager for WGN-TV, Chicago, since September, 2012, will report to Larry Wert, Tribune Broadcasting's President of Broadcast Media. Farber will continue serving as WGN-TV's acting general manager until a successor is named.
"With the growth of our television group and the increasing volume of operational opportunities, Steve's new role is incredibly important," said Wert. "He is talented, innovative, and he has an innate understanding of our broadcast operations--Steve is a great fit for this role."
Prior to his role at WGN-TV, Farber served as VP/Programming Operations for Tribune Broadcasting, where his responsibilities included managing Antenna TV and working on the development of new programming. Before that he was VP/General Manager of CLTV, the division's 24-hour cable news operation in Chicago. Farber joined CLTV in 1995 and served various roles, including News Director and General Manager.
