Singer-Songwriter Chris Stills Set to Release New EP "Let It Rain" on September 14th, 2013
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Chris Stills - son of American rock musician Stephen Stills and French singer-songwriter Veronique Sanson - is set to release his new EP Let It Rain on September 14(th), 2013. The EP will be pressed on a limited number of 10 inch vinyl.
Stills will be celebrating the release of Let It Rain at Hotel Cafe (1623 1/2 N. Cahuenga Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028) on Saturday, September 14(th) at 9pm. Tickets are available at http://tinyurl.com/ChrisStillsHCfor $12.
In 2008, on the heels of his last major release on V2, Stills - en route to a writing trip with Jayhawks member Gary Louris in Spain - auditioned for the multimillion-dollar production of the European musical 'Cleopatra' in Paris, and was cast in the role of Caesar. The award winning show - 2nd bestselling in 2009 - ran until early 2010. Stills then landed his first part in a French major motion picture, "Requiem for a Killer," with Melanie Laurent which hit theaters in February of 2011.
"I never expected to get any of these parts, but I have a true love for acting that even pre-dates my love and passion for music," said Stills. "It was a chance for me to get out from behind the comfort zone of my guitar and risk taking an unbeaten path."
Concurrently, Stills was working on a French album for Polydor with producer Pierre Jaconelli. It was recorded in Paris, Bruxelles and LA between the final shows of the play and the shooting of the movie. "Elementerre" was released in France as a single mid-2011 with the album scheduled to follow. Despite the momentum of his career in Europe, Stills decided to leave the label, abandon the project and return home to Los Angeles for some much needed time with his family.
Talking about his latest EP Let It Rain, Stills stated "It began with a wrecking ball. In retrospect, it was the summoning of a counter-intuitive survival mechanism - a destroyer that would dismantle almost every structure in my life. Those same destructive forces that left me reeling also re-defined me back into my simplest and truest form. These songs are a part of that journey."
