Michael Alexander Promoted To Senior Vice President Of International, Island Def Jam, Motown And Republic Records

NEW YORK, Sept. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Universal Music Group (UMG) has promoted Michael Alexander to Senior Vice President of International, Island Def Jam, Motown and Republic Records, it was announced today by Barry Weiss, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, East Coast Labels, to whom Mr. Alexander reports. UMG's East Coast Labels include Island Def Jam, Motown and Republic Records. Formerly, Mr. Alexander served as Vice President, International, Island Def Jam. He is based in New York City.

In this expanded role, Mr. Alexander will oversee artist campaigns under the East Coast Labels umbrella, including the marketing, publicity and promotion functions outside of the US. He has worked closely on global efforts for Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Bon Jovi, Kanye West, Jay Z, Mariah Carey, The Killers, and Fall Out Boy, among many others.
