Stop.Think.Connect. is an awareness effort designed to help Americans practice safer online habits. DHS, in partnership with the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG), leads the Campaign. The Campaign's National Network is an alliance of non-profit organizations that promote cybersecurity awareness within their organizations and to their stakeholders.

In October 2013, AFCEA will promote this campaign through webinars, events and radio shows. Four free webinars feature subject matter experts addressing constructing a secure cyber future, practical cryptography, cloud security, and continuous monitoring. On October 8, AFCEA's corporate member only forum will feature a panel on "Ensuring Your Workforce is Cyber Savvy". The Wasatch Chapter will present a cyber and technology expo at Hill Air Force Base on October 9.

In addition, two radio shows will promote the cyber security theme in October. AFCEA Answers, a bi-weekly radio show on Federal News Radio, will present "Cyber Security: Safeguarding the Grid" on October 11. The AFCEA Alamo Chapter's Saturday radio show, Military City USA Radio, will focus its October episodes on cyber security with San Antonio military, government, and veteran leaders.

"AFCEA is excited to participate in National Cyber Security Awareness Month," said MCPOCG Vince Patton, USCG (Ret.), Vice President for Homeland Security Programs, AFCEA International. "This is an excellent way to support the DHS Stop.Think.Connect. Campaign and showcase the breadth of AFCEA's cyber programs and activities."
