CAPS TV Ad Asks Why Congressman McCarthy Wants Amnesty And More Immigrant Workers, When Unemployment Tops 11% In His Own District

CAPS TV Ad Asks Why Congressman McCarthy Wants Amnesty And More Immigrant Workers, When Unemployment Tops 11% In His Own District

Legalizing Illegal Aliens Could Cost Taxpayers Over Six Trillion Dollars

BAKERSFIELD, Calif., Aug. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) launched TV and radio ads in Bakersfield, California today asking why Congressman Kevin McCarthy wants to bring in more immigrant workers when tens of thousands in his own district can't find jobs. A second ad asks why McCarthy is talking about legalizing eleven million illegal aliens when legalization will cost taxpayers more than six trillion dollars. The ads will run through September 2(nd), 2013, when America celebrates Labor Day.

"How can Kevin McCarthy call for more foreign workers when unemployment tops 11% in his own district?" asked CAPS Media Director Joe Guzzardi. "Is McCarthy that out of touch with the dire jobs situation in Kern County? Does he not believe in the American worker anymore? Does he simply want to bring in more cheap foreign labor to satisfy his big corporate donors who want to fatten their bottom lines? The people of Bakersfield, California and America deserve some answers."

Kern County unemployment was 11.5% in June. Tulare County, also in McCarthy's district, registered 10.9% unemployment in June.

Congressman McCarthy has also discussed legalizing eleven million illegal aliens, despite the fact that 57% of all immigrant households with children use a welfare program. Studies estimate legalization will cost taxpayers more than six trillion dollars in entitlements, social security and welfare. Areas like Kern County with high immigration will be disproportionately impacted.

"The last thing the people of Kern County need is more job competition and higher taxes," commented Guzzardi. "They've already paid enough." Guzzardi continued, "Is that really Congressman McCarthy's idea of immigration reform?"
