WADL TV To Air Mayoral Debates Live

Tuesday July 30th and Tuesday October 29th in PRIME TIME

DETROIT, May 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- WADL TV 38 is proud to announce that it will air LIVE, the two City of Detroit Mayoral Race Debates. The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit will play host to both of the debates, which are being Co-Sponsored by WWJ Newsradio 950. The first debate is slated for Tuesday July 30(th )and will run from 8pm-930pm, just one week before the Primary Election. The second debate is scheduled for Tuesday October 29(th) and will also air from 8pm-930pm, just ahead of the November 5(th) General Election. Both debates will air on WADL TV 38 for the entire 90 minutes commercial free. Rob Davidek, WWJ News and Program Director said, "We are happy to partner with WADL TV 38 on what promises to be two very lively and important debates which will likely help shape the outcome of the election."

All Major candidates including Mike Duggan, Benny Napoleon, Krystal Crittendon, Lisa Howze and Tom Barrow have been invited to participate in the first debate with the two finalists squaring off in the second debate. The Mayoral Debate will be moderated by WWJ Newsradio 950 Morning Drive Anchor, Tom Jordan with the panel consisting of Detroit News Editorial Page Editor, Nolan Finley, Detroit Free Press Editorial Page Editor Stephen Henderson, and Debbie Dingell, President of d2 Strategies. Finley stated, "This will be one of the more unusual and important mayoral elections in recent Detroit history, and I am happy to be a part of helping Detroiters make an informed choice."
