OMAHA, Neb., May 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Cast your vote! Music fans across the country will help determine the winner of the Bank of the West Celebrates America Opening BandContest. The winning band will experience the chance of a lifetime: opening a concert featuring Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo plus Loverboy, and performing before thousands of people at the Bank of the West Celebrates America Concerton June 28 at Memorial Park in Omaha, Neb.

A wide array of musical talent including country, metal, pop and hip hop artists entered the Bank of West contest from across the country. More than 200 entries were received during the two-week open call. The five bands who have advanced to the final round are:


-- The Getaway - Cincinnati, Ohio
-- The Morgan Leigh Band - San Diego, Calif.
-- South Jones - New Orleans, La.
-- Quartus - Omaha, Neb.
-- Voodoo Method - Omaha, Neb.
The Facebook community is invited to watch the videos of the five finalists on the Bank of the West Facebook page, http://GoWe.st/Celebrates2013, then cast a vote for their favorite band. Online public voting is open through June 9. Fans and followers are allowed one vote per day, every day, during the voting period. Bank of the West will announce the winning band in mid-June.

"Now it's time to vote, and we invite everyone across the country to participate in choosing the band that will open one of the best attended and most anticipated events of the summer."

This is the third year of the Bank of the West Celebrates America Opening Band Contest. A panel of judges, which included music and talent representatives from Creative Artists Agency, Warner Atlantic Records and Romeo Entertainment Group, narrowed the band entries to the five finalists.

The Bank of the West Celebrates America Concerts and Fireworks has been an Omaha tradition for 23 years. The concert officially kicks off the city's July Fourth festivities and is known as one of the largest free outdoor concerts in the West.
