New Web Series Takes Classic Cars Out of the Garage and Onto the Open Road -- Where They're Meant To Be
CHERRY HILL, N.J., May 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Ever watch a TV travel show and think, "That would have been even better if it had a classic car in it"? Or tuned into an automotive show and thought, "This is cool, but I wish they'd take the darn car out of the garage." A windows-down cruise, and the soundtrack of four, six, eight or even sixteen cylinders (with an accelerator volume pedal) would really take things to the next level. It's a universal truth - just like people, classic cars need the freedom to roam (and rev). For the first time, new web series American Detoursdelivers -- putting rubber to great roads in beloved classic cars.

American Detours airs exclusively online, and the Season 1 adventures are already underway. Host Jael de Pardo (Syfy Network) and co-hosts (including Jeff Glucker of Hooniverse) take you for a ride in some of the coolest classics across America. Along the way, you'll meet classic car owners who hand over their keys and let the hosts hit the open road in cherished rides, one country byway and historic two-lane highway at a time.
In Episode 3, Jael and Andy Trought (Director of Automotive Education at American Collectors Insurance) cruise The Brandywine Valley in a head-turning 1968 Shelby GT 350, taking you on a pit stop tour of the famed Longwood Gardens and a renowned roadside frankfurter joint decorated with years of photos of customers and their cars.
