"A musical tour de force. Genuinely entertaining. Amusing and mesmerising to

"It's still one of the most influential records in modern music" - Richard

Branson

Two young Aussies, smashed Edinburgh Festival Fringe last Summer with their
daring and dynamic live performance of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, which celebrates 40

years since its release on May 25th 2013

Tubular Bells was the very first record released on Richard Branson's Virgin label. It
was created by a 19 year old Mike Oldfield and was considered unmarketable by the rest of
music industry but it went on to sell millions of albums worldwide - John Peel loved it,
it was theme to the horror movie The Exorcist and as if to cement its place in British
cultural history it was used in the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony.

When it was performed live in 1973 Oldfield called on over 20 musicians to perform it.
Now, just two multi-talented musicians, Australia's Daniel Holdsworth and Aidan Roberts,
perform the entire album, on stage in real time with just four hands and four feet. The
result - two blokes and a stage full of instruments - is both knock-out spectacle and
lovingly crafted homage. Spectacularly visual, like a musical sporting event, they leap
between instruments recreating the wit and playful lunacy of this remarkable hour long
epic musical journey.

Little did these two musicians know that their attempt four years ago (one evening
over a bottle of wine) playing along with the vinyl recording on acoustic guitars would
lead to a smash-hit show at international festivals world-wide (winning a Herald Angel
Award at Edinburgh) and be the anchor to the 40th birthday celebrations of one of the most
influential albums of the 20th Century.
