C-SAM Celebrates StarHub's SmartWallet "Best NFC Project" Win at Smart Card Awards Asia 2013



CHICAGO, May 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- C-SAM today celebrates StarHub's "Best NFC Project" win at Smart Card Awards Asia 2013, which recognizes StarHub's successful launch of its innovative near field communication (NFC) wallet, SmartWallet. C-SAM is StarHub's technology partner for this project and the solution has been co-developed in partnership with MasterCard.

Smart Card Awards Asia is designed to identify, acknowledge and reward companies who have demonstrated an unparalleled ability to succeed and have continually set standards of excellence within the smart card and payment technology industry. This year's winners were announced at the Gala Dinner which took place on April 24, during the Cards and Payments Asia conference.

SmartWallet integrates contactless payment options from EZ-Link, DBS and MasterCard into a single mobile app, enabling StarHub Mobile customers to securely pay for goods and services with their digital payment cards, as well as redeem discount coupons at selected merchants across Singapore. Just last month, StarHub enhanced SmartWallet to offer movie goers the added convenience of collecting Shaw Theatres' movie tickets with a tap of their NFC smartphone.
