Werner Partners with ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike In The Morning For Sixth Year in a Row
GREENVILLE, Pa., March 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Werner Co. is the official sponsor of the Werner Ladder Bracket Challenge with ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike In The Morning. Every year, co-hosts Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic, compete to see who can create the most accurate bracket for the NCAA(®) Tournament. The challenge between Mike and Mike provides entertaining debate for show listeners and sports fans.
Once the tournament ends, whichever Mike loses will unfortunately have to take part in the annual stunt that is slightly embarrassing, and possibly painful, but all in good fun. Last year Mike Greenberg had to perform a choreographed dance routine with Anna Trebunskaya from ABC's Dancing With The Stars. This year, the Bracket Challenge loser will have to compete in a grueling and gruesome obstacle course at ESPN's Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, FL on May 3.
NCAA(®) Basketball fans can also compete against Mike and Mike and create their own "Sheets of Integrity" at http://promo.espn.go.com/espnradio/werner/. Participants can enter the Bracket Challenge through Thursday March 21 before the NCAA® second rounds begin. One lucky winner will be randomly selected to receive a 3-day, 2-night trip to New York City and to visit the ESPN Radio Studios in Bristol, CT. Also included is a meet and greet opportunity with Mike & Mike and other ESPN Radio personalities.
"We're excited to partner again with Werner Ladders for the Werner Bracket Challenge!" said Mike Golic, co-host of ESPN Radio's Mike and Mike in the Morning. "One of us is going to come out of this wet, cold and dirty and I'm confident it will be Greeny," he said of co-host Mike Greenberg.
Werner is also sponsoring the "Climb to the Top" feature, which provides a platform for
Mike & Mike to debate which teams are going to make it to the NCAA® Final Four(®). "The Climb to the Top" ends in an emotional crescendo with the winning team climbing a custom 75(th) commemorative Werner ladder to cut down the nets at the conclusion of the NCAA(®) Basketball Championship on April 8 in Atlanta, GA.
"We're very excited once again to be involved in Mike & Mikes' coverage of these great college athletes' that push themselves to rise above in their sport and academic lives," said Chris Filardi, Vice President of Marketing at Werner Co. "The Werner Ladder Bracket Challenge brings a very exciting component to their coverage of the NCAA(®) Basketball Championship and we can't wait for fans to see this year's stunt."
In honor of the 75(th) celebration of the NCAA® Final Four(®) and to commemorate this special occasion, Werner has created a custom 75(th) championship ladder that will be used exclusively during the net-cutting ceremonies after the Men's Division I Championship game. This ladder celebrates all of the schools that have won the tournament dating back to the University of Oregon in 1939.
