Philly's Electric Factory Launches New Website
Williams Forrest and AgileCat Team Up to Create New Infrastructure and Redesign for Live Music Icon
LANCASTER, Pa., March 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Creative technology agency Williams Forrest today announces the launch of a new website for Philadelphia music venue the Electric Factory (www.electricfactory.info). Williams Forrest and partner agency AgileCat teamed up on a total refresh of both the front-end design and back-end architecture of the site. AgileCat provided the design enhancements, which included an evolved Electric Factory identity as well as an entirely new approach to the creative presentation of the look, feel, style and structure of the website, and Williams Forrest was responsible for the web solution.
The Electric Factory, an iconic national brand for live music based in Philadelphia with clients that include Bruce Springsteen to LiveAid, enlisted AgileCat and Williams Forrest to create a site that better serves their internal needs as well as the venue's music loving audience. The site's main improvements include a new calendar view with featured events, a photo gallery, and a news and announcements page, providing easy access to key information as well as an engaging experience for the user.
The site's refined logical architecture and Content Management System (CMS) are fundamental parts of this premium solution. With the ability to easily update and customize the site, the Electric Factory can keep things fresh, informative, and appealing. Williams Forrest achieved this using the CMS Orchard, an open source system built on the ASP.NET MVC platform. In order to ensure cross browser support for AgileCat's front-end design, Williams Forrest constructed the site with an underlying blend of Bootstrap and JavaScript.
"Growing up in this area, the Electric Factory played a significant role in establishing my love of live music," said David Barr, President and Chief Solutions Architect, Williams Forrest. "Seeing bands such as The Pixies, P.I.L., Sonic Youth, and Social Distortion at such an intimate and iconic venue were definite highlights of my youth. Being able to give back to the venue has been really cool. We developed a cutting edge, sustainable solution that provides the Electric Factory with better controlled cost of ownership over their website which translates into better ROI over time."
"AgileCat was thrilled to partner with Williams Forrest in combining our progressive approach to the creative presentation of Electric Factory's website with Williams Forrest's digital brain trust that truly brought it to life," said Peter Madden, CEO, AgileCat. "Surely, it was a 1+1=3 scenario, and will lead to great success for Electric Factory."
The site will continue to add content, including more photos, to create an even richer user experience.
