J.D. Myers, II Named Market Vice President, Northern Virginia Operations for Cox Virginia
HERNDON, Va., March 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications recently named J.D. Myers, II as Market Vice President, Northern Virginia Operations for Cox Virginia. With more than 30 years of industry experience, Myers is responsible for Cox's day-to-day operations in Northern Virginia leading 400 employees. The Northern Virginia market (which includes Fairfax County, the City of Fairfax, the City of Falls Church, the Town of Herndon, the Town of Vienna and the Town of Clifton as well as the Fredericksburg, Stafford and Spotsylvania County areas) represents 380,000 of Cox Virginia's 1.5 million video, Internet and phone subscriptions.
Prior to his current role, Myers was Vice President of Cox Business and led Cox's commercial business in Northern Virginia, serving businesses, schools and government agencies of all sizes. Myers has also held various senior leadership positions for Bell South, General Electric, WorldCom, and has served in the U.S. Army as a Non-Commissioned Officer.
In 2012 and 2011, Myers was named by CableFAX as one of the Most Influential Minorities in Cable; in 2009 he was one of CableFAX Magazine's Top 35 Regional Executives; and in 2008 was recognized by CableFAX as one of the Top Minority Executives in Cable Communications.

Myers holds an MBA in Finance and an MBA in Marketing from American University, a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration from American University and an Associate of Arts, Electrical Engineering Technology from Regis University. He is a graduate of the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) sponsored Executive Leadership Development program.
Myers is an active member of the Board of Trustees for the George Mason University Foundation, a member of the Board for the Northern Virginia Technology Council, and a member of the Board of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of NAMIC. He also serves as Co-Chair on the Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) Business Services Council.
Myers resides in Potomac, Maryland, and is based out of the Herndon, Va., office.
