WVEC Promotes Doug Wieder to Executive News Director

NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- WVEC-TV, a Belo Corp. (NYSE: BLC) station, announced today that Doug Wieder has been named Executive News Director, effective immediately. Wieder served as Interim News Director at WVEC since October, and prior to that he was Executive Producer at the station since 2007.

A former award-winning investigative reporter, Wieder is a board member of the Virginia Associated Press, and a volunteer with St. Mark's Food Pantry and the YMCA. Prior to joining WVEC-TV, Wieder was a senior producer at WRIC-TV (Richmond, VA), and earlier in his career spent time as an anchor and reporter at WDEF-TV (Chattanooga, TN) and WGXA-TV (Macon, GA).
