FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Feb. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Miami International Piano Festival presents the Master Series March 3-5 at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The three day classical music festival is dedicated to the musical genius of the French Impressionists as well as a celebration of the 150(th) anniversary of Claude Debussy's birth.
Four distinct programs will be performed over three days and each one focuses on the unique music of the Impressionist period.
The first performance on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 3:00PM is "A Tribute to Debussy and Ravel" and will be performed by Francesco Libetta. It will include well-known signature pieces such as Debussy's "Elegie" and Ravel's "Mirrors".
The second performance on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 7:45PM is "Celebrating Debussy's 150(th) Anniversary" and will be headlined by Konstantin Lifschitz. The evening will include works inspired by poets and artists of the era.
The third performance on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 7:45PM is "Debussy & Ravel Through the Prism of Two Pianos" will be a delight to enjoy as Francesco Libetta & Konstantin Lifschitz join forces on the stage as a duo and perform "In White and Black" by Debussy, "La Valse" by Ravel, and "Visions" by Messiaen.
The grand finale is the "French Impressionism's Chamber Jewels" on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 7:45PM and will conclude the festival weekend with a program of chamber treasures from the French Impressionists, Debussy, Ravel, and Faure.
Pianist Misha Dacic teams up with eclectic violinist Gilles Apap and the mesmerizing Dimitri Maslennikov on cello performing Claude Debussy's "Sonata for Cello and Piano" as well as Maurice Ravel's "Piano Trio in A Minor" and "Violin Sonata".
Featured speaker Stuart Isacoff will bring to life the worlds of Debussy and Ravel during each program.
