Now in its fourth year, the annual program honors Hollywood and celebrates Moet's history as the "Champagne of cinema." Golden Globe nominees were invited to raise a toast with Moet & Chandon Imperial minis in support of their favorite charities. For each toast raised, Moet & Chandon donates $1,000 to the chosen charity in the nominees' names. Including this year's outstanding participation, nearly $200,000 has been raised for over 130 charities.
Celebrities, including Kate Hudson, Hugh Jackman, Jon Hamm, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, Glenn Close, Debra Messing, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Hayden Panettiere, Steve Buscemi, Aziz Ansari, Nene Leakes, Jack Black and more joined Moet & Chandon this year for Toast for a Cause. Moet & Chandon donated to charities such as the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, supported by Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, the World Wildlife Fund, supported by Kate Hudson, and the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, which is supported by Jon Hamm.
Over 7,500 glasses of Moet & Chandon were enjoyed during one of Hollywood's biggest nights. Celebrities began their evening enjoying 1,500 Moet & Chandon Imperial minis with their chic mini flutes on the red carpet. Once inside the ballroom, 375 magnums of Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage 2004 were uncorked.
To celebrate more than two decades as the official Champagne of the iconic awards show, Moet & Chandon introduced its magnificent 2004 Grand Vintage Brut Champagne to the United States in specially made large format bottles - the perfect debut for one of the House's exceptional Champagnes.
"The 70(th) anniversary of the Golden Globe Awards is a remarkable milestone and the perfect occasion for a celebratory toast, particularly with the debut of such a special champagne as Moet& Chandon 2004 Grand Vintage Brut," said Ludovic du Plessis, Vice President, Moet & Chandon USA. "We should know - Moet& Chandon is celebrating its 270(th) anniversary this year."
Off the red carpet, Moet recreated the red carpet experience for all of Los Angeles to enjoy for four days at The Grove. Guests were invited to take their picture at the "Moet Tweet Suite," which featured a giant backdrop of the Golden Globes red carpet and a 15 liter bottle of Moet Imperial. Located in the heart of the Grove, thousands of people walked the red carpet and took their turn in front of the camera at the tweet suite. The digital "Postcards from Hollywood" were shared at twitter.com/MoetUSA and facebook.com/MoetUSA where people could tag themselves and share the experience with friends to celebrate the 70 magical years of this beloved awards show.
