Nonprofit Foundation Teams with Grammy-Award Winners for Upcoming Grant Disbursement

Beginning December 3rd, 2012, nonprofits can submit a 4-8 line poem expressing the heart and soul of their nonprofit mission. After the grant application closes on January 7th, 2013, a jury panel of recognized, independent music artists and producers will select several poems, based on the quality of the lyrics. The best poem's organization will be awarded a $10,000 cash grant and Grammy-award winning recording artists, The Original Blind Boys of Alabama, will create an original, professionally produced song based on their poem.

"The process of creating a poem as the basis for a grant is fun and inspirational for the US nonprofit community," said Kathryn Engelhardt-Cronk of the CTK Foundation Fund. "It's an opportunity to engage clients, staff and volunteers in a meaningful activity reminding everyone about the heart and soul of their mission. We are pleased to recognize and celebrate the service of nonprofits."

In February, key members of the winning nonprofits will be flown to Austin for a gala award ceremony to hear the winning song's premiere performance by The Original Blind Boys of Alabama.

To qualify for the grant, nonprofits must be registered 501(c)3 organizations. Grant applications, including poems, will be accepted on the CTK Foundation website www.ctkfoundation.org through January 3(rd) 2013. Selected nonprofits will receive non-restricted cash grants to be used to foster greater understanding of the nonprofit's mission in their community. The CTK Foundation is also offering a special $10,000 grant for an Austin, Texas-based nonprofit serving at-risk families and children.

For more information about the Heart & Soul Grant Program, nonprofits are encouraged to contact the CTK Foundation Fund via email: inquiries@ctkfoundation.org or by visiting the foundation website.
