A Magical 3D Light & Music Attraction Celebrating Winter Debuts on the Atlantic City Boardwalk on Saturday 12/1 with Special Guest Clay Aiken

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Nov. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- "Winter Sweet" -- a new, family-friendly, nightly outdoor show -- will debut on the famed Atlantic City Boardwalk on Saturday, December 1 at 6 p.m. Created to draw visitors to the Boardwalk, "Winter Sweet" showcases the visual beauty and elegance of the season. Like its sister show, "Duality," "Winter Sweet" uses sophisticated 3D projections and an original musical score to illuminate the exterior of Historic Boardwalk Hall.

To christen "Winter Sweet," Recording Artist Clay Aiken will appear at a winter celebration featuring holiday music, live entertainment, hot beverages and sweets. The free event will take place 5:30-7 p.m. on the Boardwalk at Kennedy Plaza. The first show of "Winter Sweet" will be at 6 p.m.

"Winter Sweet" debuts as part of a daylong celebration of the holidays in Atlantic City, including the Atlantic City Holiday Parade, the Christmas tree lighting, and other special events. Aiken is appearing courtesy of the Trump Taj Mahal, which presents Clay Aiken's Joyful Noise Tour 2012 in the Mark G. Estess arena on Saturday, December 1 at 8 p.m.

"Winter Sweet" is free and no tickets are required. "Winter Sweet" uses highly sophisticated 3D light projectors with Historic Boardwalk Hall as its stage. It is shown nightly every half hour from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Boardwalk Hall is located at 2301 Boardwalk at the center of the world-famous AC Boardwalk between Georgia and Mississippi Avenues at Kennedy Plaza. "Winter Sweet" replaces "Duality," which will return in the spring. Since Duality's debut July 4, 2012, over 200,000 people have seen the show.

"Winter Sweet" and "Duality" were conceived and created by Montreal-based Moment Factory, known throughout the world for its innovative work combining technology and creativity though video, lighting, architecture, and sound. Moment Factory was commissioned by the Atlantic City Alliance, a private non-profit with the mission to increase tourism to Atlantic City.

About "Winter Sweet"

The seven-minute show features three magical worlds. By using hundreds of visual elements, including a number of 3D effects, in this newest holiday show, Moment Factory aims to capture the enchanting season and heartwarming, memorable moments of winter.

The first world, "Snow and Ice," features historic Boardwalk Hall icing over as winter approaches. Projections of dancing ballerinas, softly falling snow and a train that appears to be chugging along the top of the building continue to evoke the magical season until a crumbling effect acts as a transition to the second world.

In the second world, "Winter Village," Boardwalk Hall is transformed into a candy wonderland, lit by the glow of candles, sledding elves and sugary treats with a humorous and surprise ending.

The third and final world, "Illumination," features elegant ornaments and intricate lighting that eventually "melts" the surface of the building as spring and new beginnings come to Atlantic City.

Quotes about "Winter Sweet"

"It's a real pleasure for our team at Moment Factory to continue collaborating with the Atlantic City Alliance," said Sakchin Bessette, Creative Director and Co-Founder of Moment Factory. The public's reaction to Duality has been amazing. With this new sound and light experience, we want to dive into the magical world of winter with its festive atmosphere and heartwarming memorable moments, as well as showcase the elegance and the beauty of the season. This show is a celebration of winter and we hope it will bring warmth and magic to the people of Atlantic City and their visitors."

"Atlantic City has always been known as a place for rejuvenation, celebration and spectacle," said Liza Cartmell, President of the Atlantic City Alliance. "Winter Sweet comes at an opportune time as we seek to remind people that the Atlantic City Boardwalk is fine after the hurricane and ready to welcome visitors back."
