The Jim Utley Foundation Brings Behind the Orange Curtain to the Community for FREE

DALLAS, Oct. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Jim Utley Foundation, a local 501(c) 3 non-profit, will host a special screening of Behind the Orange Curtain at Studio Movie Grill (4710 W. Park Blvd., Plano, TX 75093) FREE to the public on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at 6 p.m. Seating is limited, so RSVP to ericawhand@gmail.com to reserve your spot. Food will be available for purchase from Studio Movie Grill. The film is recommended for 13+ and parents are encouraged to watch the trailer to decide if it is appropriate for their children younger than thirteen: http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/behind-the-orange-curtain/trailer.

This powerful documentary explores the drug problems in seemingly perfect Orange County, California, which mirrors some of the drug issues faced today in North Texas. The film is 90 minutes in length.

"We are thrilled that filmmaker Brent Huff will be at the screening to do a Q&A," said Rebecca Baker, founder & president of The Jim Utley Foundation. Baker's brother Jim Utley passed away in 2006 as a result of using methamphetamine. "This film should be seen by every adult, especially parents. It is eye-opening and in some cases, life changing." The documentary is being shown as part of foundation's Red Ribbon Week activities.

The Jim Utley Foundation was formed in 2008. Its mission is to connect with parents, teens and preteens with real-world information and rewards ages 10-17 years for choosing to be drug free. The foundation's Test Yourself program awards points to youth for submitted activities such as getting good grades, doing community or church service, being active in organized sports and clubs, and pledging to be drug free. Points can then be exchanged for gift cards to retail stores and restaurants. The Jim Utley Foundation also offers free at home drug-testing kits free of charge to parents by request.
