Emerging artist's work, a fusion of street art and fine art, will be showcased at event that combines art and music's newest talent

NEW YORK, Oct. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Emerging New York artist Marqueo teams up with musician Benji Hughes for collaboration at Frisbie Studios' groundbreaking Fun Machine. Marqueo is a native Washingtonian who currently works and lives in New York City.

"It's exciting to be part of an event designed to pair music and visual art into one uniquely expressive statement," says Marqueo. "The synergistic Fun Machine series hosted by Frisbie combines art and music's new talents. I look forward to a fresh media-mash-up, it's going to be fun."

Marqueo and New West Records recording artist Benji Hughes' collaborative show will take place 7:00-9:00 pm, October 25, 2012, at Frisbie's TriBeCa studios.

Marqueo is a graduate of Georgetown Day School and Howard University, both in Washington, D.C. While receiving his degree in Fine Arts he began producing much sought after hand painted T-shirts; it was also at Howard that Marqueo first explored cut-paper collage, which ultimately became his signature medium and style.

Marqueo's fresh oeuvre rolls straight through the emerging, energetic intersection of street art and fine art. His work has already been collected by basketball colossus Michael Jordan, director Joe Pytka, ad man Don Schneider, fashion designer Edwin Hall and many others.

His exacting cutouts, which first time viewers sometimes mistake for applied paint or other easier to control media, take days to complete; the most minor mistakes get tossed in Marqueo's recycling bin.

"My art is a snapshot of life," says Marqueo. "I've always been drawn to street art. It's creative and disruptive."

For more information on Marqueo's artwork, visit him on tumblr or shoot him an email. And he wants you to know he'd love to be your host for Thursday night's art, music and refreshments in TriBeCa.
