WNBC's Lynda Baquero to Host 2012 Salute to Achievement



Citi CEO Vikram Pandit honored, international star Josh Groban to perform as music headliner NEW YORK, June 4, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Boys & Girls Harbor has confirmed that WNBC's Lynda Baquero will serve as mistress of ceremonies of the 2012 Salute to Achievement, held June 7 at the historic Heckscher building on 104th Street and Fifth Avenue. Along with celebrity performer Josh Groban and honoree Vikram Pandit, Ms. Baquero rounds out an impressive roster of talent for the Harbor's milestone 75 Anniversary event.

Ms. Baquero is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and correspondent for NBC 4 New York. She has covered the economy, tourism, the Olympic Games, and Pope John Paul II's trip to the Holy Land. Most recently, she traveled to Fort Bragg for a story titled "Women in Combat."

Salute 2012, replete with receptions overlooking Central Park, will honor Citi CEO Vikram Pandit for Citi's commitment to supporting programs that educate and inspire young people in New York City. Internationally renowned singer and songwriter Josh Groban will be the evening's music headliner, thanks to Harbor Board Member and Warner Music Group Executive Lyor Cohen.

This year's program also features an original mini musical, As We Go..., which was conceived by the talented faculty at the Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts. Featured in the musical are Harbor alumni, the Harbor Latin Big Band, and performing arts students enrolled in the Harbor Conservatory.

The premier event of CAMPAIGNELEVATE,Salute 2012 will showcase the Harbor's mission to empower children and their families to become full, productive participants in society through education, cultural enrichment, and social services.

There is limited individual seating at $1,000 per ticket; group packages are available, beginning at $5,000 which include a pre-performance reception, performance, and post party in the courtyard of the Heckscher building.
