Project: Forgive Viral Video Takes Over the Web

Project: Forgive Viral Video Takes Over the Web

Viral video seen by tens of thousands, Creator comes to Milwaukee, June 7

MILWAUKEE, June 5, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In just over 4-weeks, a deeply inspiring 5-minute video drove tens of thousands of people from across the globe (www.ProjectForgive.com) to share the conversation of forgiveness WITHOUT YouTube. Through a kickstarter.com crowd funding campaign, more than $100,000 was pledged to make a movie on the topic.

This compelling video is also garnering tons of media attention from the likes of CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and Inc. Magazine to name a few. It was featured in 40 newspapers across Canada and one particular story in the Detroit Free Press, generated 11-thousand emails alone. Even Jack Canfield of the Chicken Soup fame endorsed the project. This past week, the project's national public service announcement was nominated for an EMMY® award.

Why all the fuss? Forgiveness is a big topic that impacts all races, religious affiliations, political discourses, immigration and gender issues. The project, led by six time EMMY® award winning producer Shawne Duperon, examines forgiveness through life-changing stories, such as the experience of long-time friend Gary Weinstein, whose wife and two sons were killed by a drunk driver. In a tragic twist of irony, it was another long-time friend of Duperon's, Tom Wellinger, who was the inebriated driver that took Weinstein's family.

"Here's the dilemma: on one hand you have Tom who caused a horrific accident and horrific pain. On the other hand you have Tom, our family friend, who's also an amazing, loving human being," says Duperon. "How do we hold these conflicting emotions in our heart at the same time? This is where the shift occurs, this is where the breakthroughs happen. This is where we solve political, business, racial and immigration issues in ways we haven't seen before. We can't keep doing the same things and expect different results. Forgiveness is about emotional maturity. We're culturally ready for a new realm of possibility as evidenced by the popularity of the viral video."

Duperon will be in Milwaukee, Thursday, June 7, 2012, to present this notion of forgiveness within the business realm when she presents her workshop "Networking is for Neanderthals" to the National Society of Hispanic MBA's Milwaukee Chapter (NSHMBA). This popular and interactive presentation uses universal principles of love, fear and forgiveness in business. The event is sponsored by Harley-Davidson Motor Company.

"We're excited to have Shawne here in Milwaukee. Attendees of this event will be exposed to Ms. Duperon's innovative and unique approach to business development."
Scott Astrada, Chapter President, NSHMBA-Milwaukee
