"Queen of the Sun: What are the Bees Telling Us?" explores the devastation of the honeybee, features exclusive interviews with filmmakers
AUSTIN, Texas, June 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Whole Foods Market (NASDAQ: WFM) announces the online premiere of "Queen of the Sun: What are the Bees Telling Us?," the third film in this year's Do Something Reel Film Festival.
"Queen of the Sun: What are the Bees Telling Us?" is a profound, alternative look at the global bee crisis directed by Taggart Siegel. The film will be available to online audiences for one month, beginning June 1, at www.dosomethingreel.com for $4.99. The cost includes exclusive interviews with filmmakers only available as part of the Do Something Reel Film Festival and funds will help benefit the 2012 Whole Foods Market/AFI-Discovery Channel Silverdocs Festival filmmaker grants.
Taking the viewer on a journey through the catastrophic disappearance of bees, the film explores the mysterious world of the beehive. It weaves an unusual and dramatic story of the heartfelt struggles of beekeepers, scientists and philosophers from around the world including Michael Pollan, Gunther Hauk and Vandana Shiva. Together they reveal both the problems and the solutions in renewing a culture in balance with nature.
